The Importance of “Fun of Learning” Toddler Age Activities

I like to engage the “Fun of Learning” type of activities, because this keeps toddlers and preschoolers interest, while they are exercising their different skills or areas of development. In addition, these types of activities provide an opportunity to expand their abilities while engaging in an enjoyable activity. As they grow and develop and get ready for preschool, kindergarten, and regular school, the hope is, they will take this “Fun of Learning” experience with them.

Homemade Fine Motor Activities for Toddlers

I love finding new ideas for toddler engaging activities. Read below to get details on my new activities.

What do I mean by “fine motor?” Fine motor skills are tasks that utilize the small muscles of the body like those in the fingers. Toddlers at around a year of age are usually able to perform fine motor skills like holding a cup, grasping a spoon, picking up chunks of food and putting small objects into a larger container. Happy Mother’s Day!

Wishing all Mother’s and Grandmother’s a well-deserved Happy Mother’s Day. Cherish this magical day as you celebrate with your family and relatives.

Here is a little poem to share . . .

M is for the many special Memories,
O is cuz there's Only One of you,
T is for the Tenderness with children,
H is for the Helpful things you do,

Is “share” a dirty word for toddlers?

There is a fear it would create a negative complex about sharing, if we try to teach little ones how to share at such a young age. There seems to be a belief that toddlers won’t understand what it means when we use the word “share”.

CPR and First-Aid Classes? Really? Who has time?

Taking a CPR & First-Aid class could help save a life of a loved one, friend, neighbor, even a co-worker or someone in a public facility during an emergency situation. Furthermore, I strongly recommend taking a class which includes CPR instructions for infants as well.

What is a CPR & First-Aid Class?
CPR stands for cardiopulmonary resuscitation. It is an emergency lifesaving procedure that is done when someone's breathing or heartbeat has stopped. Rescue breathing provides oxygen to the person's lungs.

First-Aid is emergency treatment administered to an injured or sick person before professional medical care is available.

Why should I take the time?
The procedures are simple and easy to remember. It’s well worth the time to learn knowing that you might be in an emergency situation. It’s nothing to feel scared or fearful about. Emergencies happen and wouldn’t you want to know that someone nearby knows what to do if you were injured or suddenly in need of CPR?

Here are some scenarios to think about:
1) What if you were shopping with a friend and her baby
