Valentine’s Day is coming up
real soon, just next month! I know crazy, right? I thought it would be fun to
share some Valentine crafts which are easy to do with toddlers, preschoolers
and older kids as well.
Handprints on Heart:
Supplies:
pink or red or white construction paper, paint for handprint (any color),
marker, glue, heart stickers, other textured paper to add like; clear wrapping
paper (cellophane), tissue paper, ribbon
Help
the little ones make their handprints on the paper with painted hands, draw a
heart with marker around the handprint with any message added. Let them pick
out what stickers and textured paper to glue on around their handprint. Easy
and fun!
Valentine
Handprint Heart Tree:
Supplies:
brown, red, pink paint, and white construction paper.
Help
the little ones make their print by painting one hand and arm brown. Stamp on
paper with hand open and arm pressed down. After washing off brown paint,
create the heart blossoms with thumb prints using the pink and red paint. If
your little one doesn’t like their whole hand and arm painted, it would still
look cute with a simple handprint and then using a toddler size paint brush. Assist
in dotting red and pink dots around the handprint. It looks adorable either
way.
Valentine in a
Bottle:
Supplies:
water bottle with label removed, stickers, pink or white or red construction
paper, scissors, heart candies, and marker.
Cutout
ahead of time a heart shape from construction paper or assist if one is
familiar with how to use scissors. Make sure it will fit (if rolled) inside the
water bottle. They can write a message on the heart or draw/scribble with
marker. Fill the bottle with heart candies. Roll the valentine cutout with the
message or writing showing on the outside and slip the valentine in through the
bottle opening. Close the bottle with the cap. The little ones can add stickers
to the outside of the bottle. This is fun and great to share with family.
